Digitakt ableton workflow

I was trying to use Digitakt as the brain but i seem to be running into issues having it communicate properly with FL Studio FL is triggering on every Midi port on the digitakt. I have it in my head that the best way to set it up is to make songs on the Digitakt and at a certain point in the song have it trigger more complex arrangements in Fl Studio for texture.

Does this make sense or should i be setting things up differently? Also, is Fl or Ableton better for what im talking about? I have been an FL Studio user for a loooong time. Maybe try to get it set up and see if it suits your workflow. I can even route that to play the DT via the keyboard.

I do much better with just hardware and use the daw as a glorified tape recorder. Keep in mind there is probably a few ways to do it depending on what you want to accomplish. Thanks for the quick reply! Yea I think im going to try Ableton demo. If you could let me know the midi settings between fl and digitakt that would be awesome! I wanted to thank you for the tips!

I got everything up and running. Yeah sorry I meant to give you some specifics but work has really been burning me all week long.

Small Talk: Big subjects. Short thoughts.

I love the video! That song goes hard af and then turns soft and subtle at the end. So you are sequencing everything from FL Studio? The midi over usb is cool the way I have it set up because I turn off the sound engine to the monologue, press key no sound, basically just a midi controller keyboard. So then I can chromatically play anything I want including feeding the midi back into the monologue so it triggers itself!

I think I previously had it set up with regular 5 pin midi out from my M-Audio 2x2M. Signal flow gets complicated sometimes man! Thanks man, yea sometimes making music with these machines is more like math problem than art! Hope that made sense lol. Jcarpool February 28,am 1.

Hi all, I own a Digitakt and considering the BB as a compliment stereo samples, long sample size etc. Wondering if anyone else is using this combo and what your experience is? Anyone else experienced this or other issues? Thanks very much! Tags: None. Sonic Revolutions. PLock is not a protocol or midi thing.

I never have any problems using my Digitone or A4mk2 to sequence other gear. I can do some sequencing of the BB via DN and resampling tomorrow. Comment Post Cancel. I use the 8 midi tracks of dt to trigger bb pads. Works like a charm. Yes I like that combo.

Works fine. Especially to resample stuff out of the digitakt and triggering the loops afterwards by its midi tracks while switching patterns. So I get a good workflow by the two machines.

Yes, the PLock Thing don't works right till now. OK, thanks everyone. I had read this elsewhere on the forum and became concerned: 31AM Using Elektrons Parameter Locks with BB's CC works if there is small silence at the start of the sample.Forums Quick Links.

Members Quick Links. NI Community Forum. Messages: 6. Hey I'm searching for something that must exist. I have downloaded the controller template that was released by NI but it seems really limited.

Most buttons are not mapped. I also checked out the Logic Pro X templates some user ones downloaded and they are perfect. I can't seem to find any 'custom' templates anywhere. Also, I thought about making my own but get stuck as the most used Ableton shortcuts are 'key commands' and not midi cc's. Is what I want possible? Does anyone have any tips or workarounds or can offer any help at all. Fingers crossed. Keith MannJul 7, Messages: The MK3 Legacy template is the closest to the other Maschine templates but is indeed incomplete and will not be finished.

This was confirmed to me via email and I made a thread about it some months ago. Host Integration is the new move for Maschine, but is again still limited and incomplete. It's a cool start but really doesn't do much as is. I've seen some make custom templates in the past but I don't think you can reach the same level of complexity that NI achieved with the previous scripts.

At the end of the day I ended up going back to my Push 1 for controlling Live. DataStrainMusicJul 7, Like x 2. Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit gutted about this tbf. It really is a cracking bit of kit but just doesn't play well with others. I wish I had read your thread before buying it and just gone for the Push. Seems bizarre that what I want is totally possible and surely relatively easy?

I have managed to map some of the unused buttons to some of the functions but struggle to find a way to attach them to 'keybaord' shortcuts. I also own the Mk3 and I have started using ableton just to find out the newest MK3 is the least supported in ableton I bought maschine jam Arsenal template from Native Kontrol.

This is NI They will have to expend money on advertising; I advice people to run away from NI and start either with Ableton or FL and I guess many people is doing the same We can always get some money back by selling, but all the time spent on the platform is something we will never get back Kore users learnt this the hard way.
